Aplitop prepares the launch of tcpMDT 26
Aplitop is preparing the launch of tcpMDT 26, the next version of its surveying and civil engineering software for CAD systems.
The update includes improvements across several program modules, especially in surfaces, parcels, interoperability, BIM and civil works tools. These new features are designed to make common tasks in technical projects easier, such as terrain data processing, geometry editing, GIS attribute management, measurements and setting out.
Version 26 includes changes in different areas of the program. Among the main new features are:
Surfaces with new options for breaklines
tcpMDT 26 adds new maximum distance and angle parameters for the automatic creation of breaklines. These criteria will allow better control over the connection between points and help discard connections that do not meet the defined thresholds.
The update also includes simultaneous import of LAS/LAZ files, surface merging with transition area and breakline import in LandXML format.
Error detection and interactive parcel editing
In parcels, the new version includes commands to move sides and vertices interactively. When an element is modified, the affected parcels will be updated in real time.
A new tool is also added to detect geometric errors such as overlaps, gaps, or invalid geometries, generating a report with the issues found to make review easier.
Interoperability improvements
tcpMDT 26 brings together several new features aimed at exchanging information with other formats and technical workflows. The version includes integration with SketchUp, export to GeoPDF, import of OBJ files with textures, reading of attributes in Shape and GeoPackage files and new options to query, edit and label GIS attributes directly in the drawing.
In the BIM section, IFC export adopts IFC 4.3 as the main format, with mapping of MDT objects to their corresponding IFC entities and a four-step export wizard.
AI Assistant: Find the Function You Need Faster
tcpMDT 26 includes an AI assistant that helps answer questions about the program, locate commands, and recommend workflows based on user queries. In parallel, MCP compatibility allows tcpMDT to connect with compatible external assistants and control certain operations through natural language instructions, helping users identify the right process more quickly.
New civil works capabilities in the Professional version
The tcpMDT 26 Professional version includes changes to design, analysis, measurement and setting-out tools.
These include new options for superelevations, sections, pavement layers, measurements, construction monitoring and hydrology. The setting-out module has also been reorganized into three main commands: Analyze Points, Set Out Points and Calculate Points.
Availability of tcpMDT 26
tcpMDT 26 will be available very soon. Users with active maintenance will receive access to the update in the coming days.
There is no need to uninstall the previous version of MDT, as tcpMDT 26 can coexist with MDT 25 on the same computer.
The tcpMDT 26 feature and release notes sheet is now available for consultation:
